Roosevelt’s  4 year plan – 1933 – 1937
And during his first days in office President Franklin Roosevelt who  was elected in 1933 attempted to resolve the high unemployment problem caused  by the Great Depression .  He started up the Civilian Conservation Corps which hired men between the ages of 18 and 25.  It was part of his new deal to provide work for unskilled manual laborers would work on land owned by the Federal the state and local governments.  They would help to reforest America , construct parks nationwide and build public roadways in remote areas.  Also  structural improvements on bridges ,  airport landing fields,  erosion control , flood control,  irrigation and dams.  By midyear in 1933 there were over 1400 working camps with about 250,000 jobs created.  They received room and board plus $30.00 a month.  In 1933  $ 1.00 was the equivalent of $ 16.00 in 2012.
Enrollment in this program peaked in August  1935 with 505,000 enrollees .  This program did little to resolve the high unemployment to rate of the Great Depression.  So in 1935 Roosevelt begin the Works Progress Administration also known as the W.P.A.  The unemployment rate in 1935 was 20 %  .    Between 1935 and 1943 when the W.P.A .was disbanded it provided almost eight million jobs for the unemployed.  But the workers were limited to 30 hours a week .   In 1935 the priority projects for the W.P.A .were to improve infrastructure , roads,  extension of electricity to  rural areas , water conservation ,  sanitation , flood control, water lines installed, sewer lines ,  public buildings built, improved or repaired ,  new or improved bridges and nursery schools operated  so the single mothers could find work .  By 1935 there were 20,000,000 people on relief in the United States there were  5 1/4 million persons between age of 16 and 65 years of age who are unemployed and looking for work and able to work .  The W.P.A. employed about three million people by November 1938 and they were paid between $19.00 a month to $94.00 a month depending on the individual skills .   The W.P.A . and its workers were ridiculed as being lazy and had poor work habits.  A  Senate committee reported that to some extent the complaint that W.P.A. workers do poor  work was not without foundation. It was so notorious that in 1939 a song was recorded by a Louis  Armstrong and the Mills Brothers with the title of W.P.A.  The words were, ” sleep while you work , rest while you play, lean on your shovel to pass the time away.”
F.D.R. ‘s  work program was more costly and made much less progress compared to Hitlers program.  Until the war started in 1942 , the unemployment rate was still extremely high compared to Germany and Hitlers 4 year plan . Yes , within 4 years  [ 1933 – 1937 ] Hitler eliminated  high unemployment problem .  Roosevelt was a typical bureaucrat , a big mouthed know it all who protected the Hoi Poloi .

Hitler like Roosevelt was elected in 1933 .  Because of the Versaille Treaty imposed on Germany in 1919 , the country was bankrupt .  Hyperinflation in 1922 and 1923 destroyed what savings the people had . The
unemployment rate was extremely high .  And then the worldwide Depression came in 1930  , things were even worse.  The government and the Banksters had no solution .  Germany was little more than a 3 rd world country .   By mid 1932 almost 36 % of the population were receiving public assistance and 33 % were unemployed . [ over 5 Million ]    Over 200,000 committed  suicide .  When elected and put into  power in January 1933 , Hitler already had a plan to rebuild the country and its industry within 4 years .  Two days after he took office he outlined his economic program .  He created work rebuilding the country saying it is better to pay people to work than to award them jobless benefits .  It focused on repair or remodeling public buildings , residential housing , farms , new low cost housing , , build gas and electrical works , , waterways  and of course the super highway Autobahn , etc. The Super Highway was a toll road which brought additional money into the government .  He ordered the auto industry to design and mass produce the Volkswagen , a car that the average person could afford .  Up to then , few people had an automobile .  He forbade speculation on nationally vital commodities such as agriculture and energy .  He dismissed the stock exchanged as a ” Gangster Society ”  [ how true / Goldman Sachs ]  ]    Maximum 40 hours a week was allowed. He stipulated German construction material be used .  He upgraded the National railway , had prefabricated houses for the poor which cost about 50 % less than the normal construction ,   By 1937  [ 4 years ] , Germany’s work force was fully employed  .   As he predicted , reduced payments in jobless benefits and increased revenue thru corporate income taxes, personal taxes, and sales taxes largely offset the enormous cost of the program to reduce unemployment and revive the economy . He performed a miracle within 4 years compared to Roosevelt plan, a total failure .

There are leaders who are mediocre and self serving and there are leaders who are true Patriots  whose 1 st priorities are the welfare of the nation  as a whole .

Now on to the future , 70 years later [ 1938 – 2008 ]  our Savior , Obama made many promises , we were also in another Great Recession / Depression .   What did he do , he bailed out the ” too big to fail ” , the
Banksters and the corrupt Casinos on Wall Street to the tune of   7  TRILLION DOLLARS [ taxpayers money ] , the unemployed  / low wage service jobs be damned .  Screw the unemployed White and Black  trash .
That  7  TRILLION DOLLARS would have created multi  millions of jobs for the next 8 years +  to restore our deteriorating 3 rd world infrastructure .   It is already over 70 to 80 years old  and on the verge of collapse .
